The Boston Marathon

Taylor went to the Boston Marathon today. We had friends who ran the race and it seemed like the perfect day to hang outside and enjoy the fresh spring air. Taylor loved the hustle and bustle and enjoyed observing everyone and anything she saw. We've also recently been clapping a lot with Taylor so when she heard everyone clapping and cheering she naturally thought it was for her!

What a busy day! We arrived in Newton at about 9:45am and grabbed a nice comfortable patch of grass with a bunch of friends so we were in place when the runners started. We were stationed somewhere around the 20 mile mark and the faster, elite runners ran by at about 11:30am. Taylor napped and ate and enjoyed playing with friends' Golden Retriever puppy who was just 3 months old. She also got her first chance at playing in the grass and dirt and we were not surprised to find out she loved getting dirty! Chris and Becky Mann ran by at about 1:15pm and we headed home at about 3:30pm. Taylor closed her eyes and fell asleep the second she was buckled into her car seat!

6 month update!

Taylor turns 6 months, believe it or not, on Tuesday. The benefit of her being six months old is that the weather is finally getting warmer!! A few times a week, Taylor gets picked up from school, and we go for a walk to see the train or to the park.

Here is Taylor checking out the oncoming train (you'll have to trust me, a train is coming!)

A few other updates:

- She is learning how to sit up. She's very close to being able to sit by herself without support. Everyday she gets a little better at it.

- She loves bananas and applesauce. So far her favorite her veggie is sweet potatoes.

- Taylor is grabbing and playing with all her animals. She is also interacting with her little friends at school, and we're told that she LOVES music class.

- Taylor has also found her voice. She mostly babbles, but she can talk endlessly. We pretend that she is telling us about her day, so we respond to her by saying "oh what else, Taylor?" Then, she'll babble on some more, and we'll respond "and then what happened?" And it will go on and on like this until she ends up being hungry and we have to feed her again!

Red Sox win in Extra Innings!

Well, Dad was true to his word and had Taylor "decked" out in Red Sox gear for daycare this morning. It must have worked because the Red Sox won!

Taylor's New Hat!

So T received her first ball cap in the mail yesterday. It's a pink Red Sox hat that says "My 1st Cap". It came at a great time since next Tuesday will be the Red Sox's official game opener (in Tokyo!). Dad already suggested she wear it to daycare that day, which should definitely get her some "street cred" with some of the other babies. She will be cheering on Dice-K in his start, and he has a lot to make up to her. Dice-K happened to be pitching in Game 3's loss against the Indians the very night she was born (in fact, Mom can atest to the fact that not everyone was completely focused on the task at hand at every second - she distinctly remembers one of the nurse's calling out for the score in the middle of the delivery!) . Nonetheless, Taylor is ready for the 1st game and I'm pretty sure is storing peanuts and cotton candy in those cheeks!

Taylor Update!

Well, there are some important developments to report on.

First, as you can see from this picture I took from my phone on Sunday night, Taylor and Leo have made up. They spent 30 to 45 minutes together Sunday night ironing out whatever differences they had. By the end Taylor fell asleep in mid sentence with Leo.

Other updates:
- Taylor went to the doctor today for her 4 month (actually 4 and a half) vaccinations and physical. She weighs 15 pounds and 11 oz., and in about a week, she'll be the weight of a professional bowling ball (16 pounds)!! It seems like just the other day she was in an incubator trying to get bigger!

- Taylor is under the weather today. She has a cough and her teachers were shocked when she wouldn't eat. Taylor has a reputation for having a great appetite, and when she didn't live up to her reputation, the teachers knew something was wrong. Hopefully, she'll be better in a couple of days.

- Starting tomorrow, Taylor is allowed to eat fruit. This should be a lot of fun, and a lot of cleaning! One of Taylor's favorite things to do is eat her rice cereal, then put her fist in her mouth, then take her hand and rub her face, and then rub her face all over her chair.

- Taylor is a big smiler and recently has been "talking" and smiling at us non-stop. It's a lot of fun watching her react to everything, and she seems to have a positive attitude because everything seems to make her happy!

- As always, she continues to rock out in her jumperoo. We'll have another video in a few days, when she's feeling better!

Taylor's the best!

Taylor is the best and cutest baby there ever was (I might be slightly biased, but only slightly). I always walk out of her daycare center beaming with pride after her "teachers" tell me how good she is, and cute she is, and how she rarely fusses...that is until this morning. This morning I happened to be dropping Taylor off when Jared's dad was dropping him off. I ALSO happened to catch the end of Jared's dad's conversation with the teacher and I heard the words...good, cute, and well-behaved. Wait a second...I thought they only said that about Taylor!! I think I'm going to continue living in the world where Taylor is the best!

Say What!?

I found out today that "Taylor had fun talking with her new friend 'Trip' today."

Taylor's feud with Leo continues into day 3. There is no end in sight, as the stand off continues!

However, her love affair with the TV continues. Today, she has logged in some time watching Two and a Half Men, Sportscenter and her new favorite show, American Idol. Taylor loves her music!

Going for the Gold!

Taylor vs. Leo

This is Leo the Lion. Leo is Taylor's on and off friend. At one point, they were the best of buddies. However, they are currently in a long feud, though, no one is quite sure what they are fighting about. It started innocently enough, Taylor's yellow friend who made her smile and laugh. Over time, the relationship has become a bit rocky, and as far as we can tell, it's because it's a one way friendship. Taylor seems frustrated that she does all the talking and Leo just stares right back at her.

We'll keep you updated as this situation develops.
