Santa came to visit!

We had a wonderful holiday season. Celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas with our families (whether we were physically with them or in spirit!) makes the season. :)

This year Taylor was very aware of who Santa was and that he brought presents. Whether she understood he came in the middle of the night and was led by reindeer in a sleigh...we're not sure.

We left Santa cookies, milk, and pizza (Taylor really held strong on the idea of pizza...we're positive Santa appreciated it too!!) and we woke up to a plate full of half eaten cookies (baked by Nana) and pizza (baked by Bertucci's). Amazing!

Here are some pictures from Christmas morning and Christmas Day at the Counihans.

Finishing the cookies Santa left behind...

Santa brought a Leap Frog computer, a new xylophone, and much more...

Happy Birthday, Papa!!!

It's the big 6-0 for Papa and Taylor just wants to wish him a big "Happy to you ♪♪♫". One of Taylor's favorite places to be in this world is on "Papa's boat". Happy Birthday to the best Captain in the water!

Happy Halloween!

Growing up

Taylor had her 2 year "well baby check up" yesterday so I thought I'd post her latest "stats". She is 35.75 inches tall (almost 3 feet!!) and weighs almost 31 pounds. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight, which is pretty consistent with the last year and a half. Scott and I also tend to notice that she towers over kids her own age :)

Happy Birthday, T!

Happy Birthday to our little monkey!

How fast 2 years have gone by. It's the kind of fast that happens when you're having so much fun and you want the clock to stop so it never ends. We finally realize what it means when our parents said, 'you're growing up too fast!'. You are the perfect blend of sweet, funny, and precocious. And while we may be a tad bit biased, you just might be the coolest kid there ever was.

Our hopes for you are that you always stay that confident little girl who seems to be afraid of nothing! We love your sense of adventure and never get tired (alright maybe we do get a little tired!) of following you as you set forth on your own unbeaten path. We look forward to watching you grow, learn, and being there every step of the way for you. We love you so much!

Love, Mom and Dad.

Boo!!

This is Taylor's favorite game. Nothing more fun than a good game of "boo."

Fearless and Fashionable

Taylor and I spent the weekend at the Cape with our good friends, the Brodies. This was the first time Taylor made it to the beach this year, and it was such a good time! Taylor had no fear at all when it came to the beach. The first beach we went to on Saturday was a little rough and the waves were coming fast and furious. Taylor loved every second. :) The second beach on Sunday was much calmer and less stressful for me. T took everything in stride and was a natural beach babe.

Pics for Uncle Scott

These pictures are for Uncle Scott. He thought we were depriving Taylor by just exposing her to the Boston Red Sox, so he wanted to do his part in opening her eyes a little further west by sending her this super cute Cubs visor (he also sent a cool jersey but it's a little too big for her just yet...it might fit in October...). The visor is perfect when T is sporting her little piggy tails :) Thanks so much, Uncle Scott!

Video Time

I heard a rumor this weekend that people are watching our videos! So, I feel obligated to post a new one of Taylor chasing me. I tried getting her to do funny things today, but being stuck inside because of the rain (again) got the best of us.

Her vocabulary is getting really good, too. I'll try to get her to say some of her favorite words for the next video.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Dada!!! I really love being your partner in crime. You're the best!

And Happy Father's Day to Papa and Grandpa George and all other dadas out there! Have a wonderful day.

The Social Butterfly

Taylor's been a social butterfly lately, attending baby showers and graduation parties. Here are a couple from last week's party, Molly and Ryan Walsh's graduation party. I think the primary reason Taylor loves these types of parties is because nutrition seems to fly out the window and she gets her fill of cookies, cake, and other treats. The picture below takes the cake (pardon the pun)....she's dipping a chocolate chip cookie in the icing of a cupcake!

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Happy Birthday, Nana! We miss you and hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Paragon Carousel

This Sunday we went for a ride on Papa and Gram's boat (Auntie Brooke was there for a special bonus!). Papa navigated towards World's End in Hingham and docked in Hull for dinner at Jake's. Before dinner we crossed the street and walked along Nantasket Beach and strolled by the coolest carousel (Paragon Carousel).

Paragon Carousel was built in 1928 and is the last operating carousel in Metropolitan Boston.

This is a picture of Taylor before it started. She looks excited!

This is the carousel in motion, it was kind of difficult to get a picture of her looking our way when it was moving. We laughed at how cute she was as she cruised around and around. Every time she passed us, it took her a second to locate us, pass us, and yell out "Mama!" when she was on the other side of the building. This went this way throughout the entire ride :) But we did learn to start waving and shouting her name about 15 seconds before she reached us.

Memorial Day Part 2 - Ice Cream!

This afternoon we took Taylor to Richardson's Ice Cream because she deserved it (and we wanted some)! After ice cream, Taylor got to pet the cows in the back of Richardson's. She was really amazed at how big and calm they were.

Happy Memorial Day!

Taylor went to her first baby shower this weekend. It was for her future 2nd cousin, my first cousin, Jacob Daniel (due date on July22nd). It was a really fun day, I got to dress her up in a pretty dress and put the baseball cap away for the day! Taylor's nana came to visit too. So much fun packed into one weekend.

Random Afternoon

I have been slacking on the blog lately, so here is a video for you to watch. Nevermind her hair... it's an inside day, so we don't brush hair!

Mama gets away for the weekend

This weekend I went to Des Moines, Iowa to celebrate my 10th Reunion (really 11th but our school does "cluster reunions"). It was so much fun, but I did miss my team at home. Scott was good enough to send me picture texts often enough that I got to see Taylor when I really missed her. Funny enough all the texts were of Taylor in her baseball cap, which makes me smile. I can totally picture her and her Dada hanging out in their hats. :) Here are two of my favorite pictures from the weekend. Please excuse the fuzziness, Scott's new cell isn't as good with the pictures as his old one was!

Fun with Aunt Brooke and Uncle Dave!

Aunt Brooke and Uncle Dave came to visit. They were in town for Passover Dinner (Happy Pesach!) and to celebrate Brooke's birthday. Happy Belated birthday, Auntie Brooke!!!! Today they brought over bagels and cream cheese (which we all know is the way straight to Taylor's heart!) and played all morning. What a fun time!!!
